From the Heart

Dear Friends and Lovers of Leaving:

We have just finished our German seminar of this year, and it was a real revealing experience. A group of people coming together, with the common aim of finding a deeper significance to their individual existence. We are living in a very special times, because nothing seems to make sense in our private lives, and at the same time we are unable to apply our spiritual know how in a practical way.

As a group we tried to understand time from a different perspective, first we looked at the past. The morning exercises and sittings were geared towards establishing a contact with our past, through sensation, thinking and feeling. Our past has to play a role if we wish to change our future. We must see and understand our past mainly by acceptance and realizing that we can repair the past only by working in the present.

The future was also viewed in the small groups and each one made a report of their findings in the general meetings, it was very good to hear the different approach of each group and to see how it is possible to teach each other under a work atmosphere.

The last portion of the seminar was dedicated to the present moment and we tried to maintain and expand it throughout the day by stopping every half hour and establishing contact with our deeper self though sensation and feeling.

We witnessed how the Higher Powers can manifest in a group, we all became instruments that made this manifestation possible, I believe this has nothing to do with me or anybody else, it just happened without us deserving or merited this action. It has nothing to do with the before or the after. We had a taste of Love and this taste remains with us as a taste of what is possible, a taste that remain ingrained in our hearts. What we do with this is up to us both as individuals and as a group.

The combination of the Gurdjieff movements and Zikr ‘remembrance of God’ provide us with a perfect balance and harmony and at the same time make us realize how much we need one another and allow us to have a taste of what is to have a relationship of Love with the Beloved.

It is not so hard to live as human beings but it requires a constant pressure on the personality. The forces of life are too strong for an individual to overcome. The ego and the external world have an alliance that makes essence passive, and before we notice we are overwhelmed by their power. We have to realize once and for all that we can only become strong as group. Love can and will come to us through a group and feed our essences. If we live for thousands of years and never experience the reality of Love we have wasted our lives.

We have to be thankful for what we have received but at the same time the more responsible we become, first towards ourselves and then towards others. We must remain together even if we are separated, because there are not great distances from heart to heart.
